This is a blog about quilting and my creative life. I am mostly a quilter but I do dabble in all things crafty from time to time which is probably why I have such a pile of UFOs

What's on my Design Wall
I took these blocks out again and made another one. I've been a bit aimless so I thought I needed to remind myself of the projects waiting for my attention.
This will be bright I think, hmmm.... But I like it.

A Baby Quilt
My DD has commissioned me to quilt her baby quilt gift for her friend. The top arrived in the mail today and after some photos of possible backings I spray basted the carcass together. It's so sweet....

Blue Christmas progress
I have been working most afternoons for a bit on this hand quilting project. I am kind of torn when I hand applique something - and I usually think I should hand quilt it too. This was an easy choice as it is relatively small.
I love the feathers especially when hand quilting...

Getting my blue circle quilt off the design board
I think I started the blue circle quilt a long time ago but I had it on the design wall last year in the hopes of getting it done for Christmas but I finally took it off the design wall with some good idea of what I will quilt on it.
I think it will be a couple of traditional but skewed designs....
But I am getting ahead of myself - first I pieces some quilt batt.
I just butt the edges together as best I can and use the wavey zigzag on my machine although I am sure a regular zigzag would work too. It helps if I use the rotary cutter to straighten the edges.
Then I spring for the 505 spray basting. I get mine at Fabricland. It's made in France - who knew but is waaay better than the Fabricland brand. I used the Fabricland (Unique I think ) brand for the Row Along quilt. It worked but it wasn't as stable as this stuff - and it stunk more.

Ok, another Tablet Cover - for my Daughter
Further to my sister's comments, yes, I guess I did forget to blog about the ipad cover I made for my daughter and her kids.
I got her to trace the kids feet and then just straight-stitch appliqued them onto the sandwich. I chose mostly pink fabric because it is a very popular colour in her house.
Their feet were actually bigger than I expected and pretty much covered the entire cover so I reduced them to about 65% on my scanner and used the smaller sizes.
Cute, huh?
