Here I am back to working on this project. More than half of the blocks were done from my last go round (Sept 2013) with this project and they were all cut and prepared for sewing so it was easy to put these last blocks together.
Then into a finished quilt top.
This is a blog about quilting and my creative life. I am mostly a quilter but I do dabble in all things crafty from time to time which is probably why I have such a pile of UFOs

Finished Our Father Quilt
Yeah, this was done a while ago but...just enjoy...
Some straight forward outline stitching....
I followed Jenny over at Elefantz and am very pleased with the resulting quilt.

Re - Quilting
I had made my eldest son an orange star quilt when he was in grade mmmm, 11 I think, in 2000. It was my one and only time using an invisible thread for the quilting. It turned out to be awful mainly because over time it grew a terrible beard of see through threads...
I took it back into my care after Christmas and began doctoring it. There was enough intact thread to act as basting so I ran a line of quilting with cotton thread on either side of the original diagonal lines in one direction.
It was a bit troublesome but I wrestled it into submission.
Considering the fabric is 15 years old the quilt is hanging in there pretty well. I did not find any other problems other than normal wear.

Planned layout for Spring Embroidered Hexies
So I got an idea to lay out the big hexies with 60degree triangles between...
I am not sure that is very clear but now that some of them are sewn together I can take another picture.

Pink Shoe Bag
We have been travelling, and my favourite slipper to take along is actually a bit between a slipper and a slipon shoe. They are getting a bit old and sometimes pick up some dirt while traveling as I wear them outside if my feet are tired of my runners. So I made this little fold over bag. I just cut a strip of fabric about 7 inches wide. Finished the short ends.
Then it was turned inside out for the two side seams... I found it to be the trickiest part but you just need to think it through...
Now I am set for the next trip.

New and Old Our Father Prayer Quilt
After nearly finishing the Our Father Quilt from the pattern by Elefantz. I thought of how beautiful it is...
Better pictures coming....
I was inspired to make my own original embroidered Our Father Prayer,
I am so excited with how the first block went that I had to show it off before I got around to pressing.... I did wash it quickly, tho to confirm the my DMC 939 is in fact colour fast. Small Yeah...
It is done in a mix of stem stitch, satin stitch, and back stitch, with either one or two threads.

More Plate Pockets
Carrying on, I made some more plate pockets, well actually some are for bowls but plate pockets sounds cuter...
And I tried them out with the dishes. They worked great. No more dusty dishes coming out of the shelves in the basement... Yeah!
