This is a blog about quilting and my creative life. I am mostly a quilter but I do dabble in all things crafty from time to time which is probably why I have such a pile of UFOs

Planned layout for Spring Embroidered Hexies
So I got an idea to lay out the big hexies with 60degree triangles between...
I am not sure that is very clear but now that some of them are sewn together I can take another picture.

More of Mollie's spring embroidery Hexies
These are adorable. Wild Olive's host Mollie is stitching up a storm I mean spring shower....
So cute, I've been doing two of each pattern and my flower petal rings of hexies are almost done. Hexagons are probably my favourite.

More of the Spring Stitching Club
I seem to be running a week behind but I'm OK with that.
I am delighted with Mollie's embroidery patterns and although I modifies some of the thread colours slightly - I didn't seem to have all the ones she recommended.... I still feel like I am part of the club...

Spring Stitching Club
I signed on to Mollie Johanson's Spring Stitching Club. I couldn't resist as it's a hexagon pattern.
She suggested the centre of the hexagon flower should be in linen. As I don't have any linen, I decided to use a plainish cream fabric (insert shrug...)
Then she suggested we use solid fabric for the petals of the hexies.... ahhh, I didn't have a very good selection of that so.... I went with some gorgeous fabrics I got at the wonderful Drumheller Quilt Shop called Bit's and Pieces. They are from the Bella Collection by Amanda Murphy. As well as some Robert Kaufman Kyoto fabrics that I deemed worthy of this project.

Hexagons, the progress
I have been positively addicted to these. Between company and housework I have been making really good progress.
lots of blue, huh ? But look at this...
More of the browns here. I'm not quite sure how the two will interface but I must figure that out soon and join them. I am about 2/3 done I estimate by the hole between these two sections on the floor.
Maybe I shouldn't have laid these down on the rug for picture purposes but it was such a lovely sunny day and they were handy here. You can't see but I have lots of little papers to remove from the blue hexs but I will get to that too.

Blue Hexagon Love
More is more,
I don't quite know why I keep at it. It just calls to my inner hexagon I guess.
Maybe my DD will come by and remove all the basting threads. That is a chore for a long view of Downton Abbey I think.

Blue Hexagons - what else?
I am constantly working on jigsaw pieces to fit in with the part that is done. It's pretty fun. Do you see the orange dot in the centre left side of the picture... that is there at the suggestion of my granddaughter. It sort of sticks out but I think I will keep it. Another of her suggestions (or should I say demands - she is 4 you know) is the Tweety centre on the right side a bit lower down.
There is Tweety again but now just above the left corner of my tray... actually a re-purposed card box...

Oh, those Hexagons
Oh, those little babies are calling my name. They look so lush but...
I do have other projects as well....
