I took a trip over to Gina Brown's and came home with some yarn. I bought a great bulky one and made this scarf over the holidays.
This is a blog about quilting and my creative life. I am mostly a quilter but I do dabble in all things crafty from time to time which is probably why I have such a pile of UFOs

Redwork finds a home with Little Step Stones
Further to the redwork story, I love it when I have an inspiration. I thought if I just laid out the redwork with the Little Step Stones blocks I have been working on...
I believe I am on to something...
I was particularly happy when I found this Robert Kaufman fabric called Splish Splash in my stash. I think it really adds a special zing to the embroidery.

Small Duffle bag Christmas Project
My DD asked me to make three of her kids small travel duffels for Christmas. She wanted them to be similar to ones I made for her and her siblings in the 90's. I am posting this now that she has them.
I made the carcass using regular quilting fabric with a heavy iron-on interfacing and a lining fabric. Then I stitched and serged the three layers together. The pieces could be handled more easily. She requested a double zipper on each side of a long tongue.
The bag has side pieces that are cut 22" by 13". The Tongue is cut 3" by 44" then interfaced the whole length and doubled over stitching the zippers on either side.
I traced the end ovals and then topstitched all layers together.
Finally, the end product...

The Blue Circle Quilt done...
I finished this before Christmas so it had it's moment and now I will show it off.
I have just finished the binding on last year's Christmas quilt. (This is the back.) I'm not sure where it should go. But I like it.
I might have gotten a bit carried away with the quilting (insert shrug ) but what can I say....
And one more....

And one more thing...
Maybe I should quit and work on the wall hangings but I just can't seem to stop...
My first mug rugs.... Pretty, huh?

Now for the Placemats
Next is the placemats. I thought they should be blue as I love blue and it is across the colour wheel from orange.
I had this great fabric. This is the Posh Kitty Shop panel. The only really girly one. The other ones are more male and as I am mostly in a houseful of boys. I guess this one is mine....
Now for the tea drinker....

Coffee Cup Wall Hanging
You saw the dishes with the orange stripe. I had to make another wall hanging using orange as the main colour. This is going much more quickly than the applique one.
This pattern is from American Patchwork and Quilting (April 1996) Yes I still have that issue. I loved this pattern from the first time I saw it. Finally it's coming to life.
Not all the blocks can be orange, right?
