Tilda Dolls

Yes, I have been bitten by the Tilda bug.  I just had to start with dolls.

cotton doll parts

They come in two sizes.  So simple to trace the pieces and sew them together on a flat piece of fabric.

Cotton stuffed dolls

How cute is this?....

Once more Socks well Tiny ones

So our son gave us some good news recently that we will be expecting a new grandchild this spring.  So in my new tradition, I knit him a pair of bootees to display on his desk at work.  He seemed quite sceptical that they would fit, hee hee.  I can hardly wait.  What a great way to start a new year.

The China Dolls

Sometime back in the 1980s these small china dolls were very popular.  My sister and I got our hands on a few.  We made one up for her with a beautifully embroidered pinafore.  She was blond.  Somehow I have a blond one and a dark one in my cupboard....

Kind of fun to work on.  Easy too.  The legs and arms are just glued to the china parts.  The last step is putting on the heads.

I thought they looked pretty crazy without their heads.  More prosaic with them on...

Christmas Presents 2012

I just had to brag.  My DD did an amazing thing for me for Christmas.  She gave me some beautiful hand made spoons.  Her uncle-in-law turns and carves them each individually and they are wonderful.  Everytime I am at her house I admire them.  Sooo on a recent visit to her uncle she procured some for me...Yeah, yeah, yeah, I am blessed.

Then my son found this cool egg timer.  It is so cute.

Diagonal Bars Block

I saw some wonderful blogs about a block like this one.  Then I thought I would paper piece it so I drew out a block 7 1/2 " square and drew on some lines.

Then I added some colourful bits...

Trimmed it down to the proper size...

I like it alot.  I see why others were excited about it.  It's very versatile as to the placement patterns too.  I'll see how it goes.
