A Summer Dress

This time I tried a Butterick dress pattern 6351.  This one I cut out on a 12/14 size according to my measurements.

It was pretty tricky as the back of the bodice overlaps...

But all is well that ends well...

Sewing Clothing: a Summer Top

I follow some sewing blogs like Sew Anemone and these ladies have inspired me to dig out and dust off my own clothing sewing skills.

Sewing Clothing Sheer long top

I have found that I just can't find the right tops to go over my new leggings.  They generally are not long enough.  I did get one gently used but the colour wasn't quite me.  So... I made a pattern and...

I am also working on another top using this pattern.

New Old Projects from my Mom

While visiting my Mom, she offered me some of her projects to complete.  Although I was hesitant - heaven knows I have lots of my own - I took a couple.

It has been a long time since I have had a new apron.  This was a panel.  It went together quickly and I am very happy with how it looks.  I don't wear aprons so I'm not sure what I will do with it but it's done.

Peggy's new lounge outfit

My friend Peggy was over and she just received this beautiful lounging dress from her friend who had just returned from Jamaica.  Isn't it wonderful?

New dress for my granddaughter

While we were in the states in October I visited Country Quilts & Bears in Clearwater, Florida and found this Thomas the Tank Engine fabric.  My original plan was for something not well thought out but when I got it home I realized I had to make something for our little girl so I 'pinked it up' and she loved it.
