So the socks are done. It has been a while since I made ones with such a long cuff. I imagine I will wear them turned down...
This is a blog about quilting and my creative life. I am mostly a quilter but I do dabble in all things crafty from time to time which is probably why I have such a pile of UFOs

Knitting projects - Socks
Just in time for the chilly weather (OK, its super cold, I live in Canada after all...did I mention the prairies...?) I got a couple of books and began another sock journey. First I made these crazy two needle socks...

They turned out amazing and they had the advantage of less row counting. You see, when you are knitting a row and purling a row, you only do the decreases on the knit side. Super slick. Then she recommends you do a crocheted seam to complete them. And it cleverly landed just at the edge of the cable.

Toasty in my new socks.

Mittens for me
I finally got around to making something for me. These are made with Royal Alpaca yarn from Gina Brown's. The yarn was pricey but the mitts are really great. So soft. I use them as liners for my leather mitts. Great for driving. (I still don't see why cars don't come with heated steering wheels as well as heated seats....)
