Then I took over the living room carpet again with my hexagons. I am trying to join the two large pieces in the middle and it is more problematic than I thought. Trying to get the two pieces to align is a bit of a challenge.
This is a blog about quilting and my creative life. I am mostly a quilter but I do dabble in all things crafty from time to time which is probably why I have such a pile of UFOs

Progress on a couple of fronts
Still working on the blue table runner for the front hall table. The hand quilting has started. I thought first to just do lines down each zigzag. But when I started I thought of my mom and her love of 1/4 in quilting inside every piece so I started and now I must finish. It's not bad though.

Little Step Stones
I am still plugging along slowly on this little stepping stone one but I love it.
I'm guessing it will become my DH's fav one so far with all that orange in it.

Next step on the Twinkle Toes Table Runner
The block I made from Le Ann Weaver's design in Loose Change is pretty straight forward. I like her directions. No wasted energy and perfect every time. I like to square up each block as I make them and I really like that she tells what size that would be. I often find myself searching for that info when I follow other patterns.
So here I am...
So here I am...
8 blocks done and already I am going my own way, rearranging them...
Hmmm...then I tried this...
Not liking the zigzag so much. Very chunky looking, don't you think...
Now this is the design in the book. I like it = = but...my table is narrow and I will have room for 3 rows of the block so I changed my mind again...
So this is the one I like the best. What do you think?

Loose Change and a New Table Runner
So I got my hands on Claudia Plett and Le Ann Weaver's book, Loose Change, Quilts from Nickels, Dimes, and Fat Quarters. Very inspiring, indeed. Here's the pattern I like...
You start with some half square triangles and plain squares .... I am thinking of my hall table which needs somewhere for the keys to land. Blues is always good, right?
