I am still not done with this quilt. Borders seem to be sooo important. It's like a frame that either helps or hinders the overall look of the thing.
After visiting with my DD and auditioning orange borders, red borders or no borders which we were actually leaning towards I brought the top out and put it up on the design wall to contemplate...
Then I thought some more about the colour wheel and how colours that are beside each other look great together and here we go...
I think the blue might do it with the dark cornerstones...
What do you think?
This is a blog about quilting and my creative life. I am mostly a quilter but I do dabble in all things crafty from time to time which is probably why I have such a pile of UFOs

More hexs on the way
Another tray of mostly blues...I am realizing after much discussion that the quilt needs a colour to hold it all together so I think it will be blue...

The prettiest Jewellery Pouch of all
Mission accomplished. It looks pretty but it has issues. My sis says that it should be lined at least with a softer satin - the quilting fabric is too stiff and the bag doesn't close properly. Also the ribbon is to skinny to get a good pull on it to tighten.

More buggy block borders...
I had the suggestion of red - maybe...
or this more brick-y colour...
or this one, which I thought the best but I wonder if the picture gives the true colours?
What do you think? First, Second or Third??
Beautiful Jewellery Pouches
I just purchased this magazine and is it a powerhouse of nice small projects. When I saw the jewellery pouch on page 53 I knew I had to make it for my sister.
I am pretty sure she had a similar one from me many years ago and she has been gently hinting that she needs another. So then I thought, what about two...
So two sets of circles later.
Cute, huh?
The one I'm sending my sister is the darker one but the pictures weren't so good.

Hexagons or What's beside my TV chair??
Ok, actually they are by my computer but the chair is also nearby.
It seems that the chair itself changes by my whim and how good I am at convincing the men in my life to move it (the chairs) around. Currently, it's a stable blue upholstered one - maybe that's why most of these hexs look blue.
This project is turning out to be the ultimate in sllloooww quilting.

What's on My deign wall again
More buggy stars..but now I'm considering borders. I'm liking the buggy fabric. My DH says I should do the two shades of green in alternating strips. Hmmm...
What do you think?
